Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Development

Job Description

Swell is seeking a talented Sr. Financial Analyst motivated to innovate at the forefront of renewable energy finance. This position will work directly and predominantly with Swell’s CFO, CEO, and Corporate Development Lead. This position will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and capital markets transactions within the organization. This includes conducting financial analysis to provide strategic insights and support decision-making by senior management, as well as project management and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support Swell’s Corporate Development Lead at a critical time in Swell’s growth Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the organization’s objectives. Conduct research and analysis of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Capital Markets Transactions: Support the execution of capital markets transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, and other strategic transactions. Prepare financial models, presentations, and other materials to support the transaction process.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including financial modeling and valuation, to support strategic decision-making and capital markets transactions. Analyze financial statements, industry trends, and other relevant data to assess the financial performance of the organization and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Reporting and Presentation: Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate strategic plans and capital markets transactions to senior management and other stakeholders. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all materials and provide insights and recommendations based on the analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and contribute meaningfully to the corporate decision-making process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners such as investment banks, capital providers, and rating agencies.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in investment banking
  • Comfortable building financial models and business cases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience conducting M&A due diligence, working in data rooms, preparing investment memoranda, building financial models, and project management
  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills including the ability to interpret data, question the results, generate insights and construct solutions
  • Clear written and verbal communicator with the ability to effectively present complex, financial information
  • Flexible worker with ability to work effectively and accurately under narrow time limitations; work independently from general instructions; and maintain positive work relations with those encountered in the course of employment
  • Team oriented
  • Highly numerate with strong attention to detail and good accounting knowledge
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and deals concurrently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on manipulating large data sets in Excel

Compensation: $89k- $125k Annually
