Staff Accountant- Inventory and Accounts Receivable

Job Description

This position will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of the company's inventory management. The role involves maintaining inventory records, performing inventory audits, calculating inventory costs, and reporting inventory values. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of the Company’s accounts receivable including customer payments, generating invoices, and resolving any billing discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all inventory items, including quantities and values.

• Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure that the physical inventory matches the recorded inventory.

• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in inventory records.

• Calculate the cost of goods sold (COGS) and ending inventory values using appropriate accounting methods such as FIFO or LIFO.

• Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner.

• Ensure that all invoices are accurate and include the correct pricing and terms.

• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any billing discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate records of customer payments and ensure that they are properly applied to outstanding invoices.

• Prepare and distribute reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and collection efforts.

• Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure that records are up to date and accurate.

• Perform other related duties as required by the Corporate Controller.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree Accounting or related field.

• At least 2 years of experience in accounting.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, inventory management or accounts receivable processes.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software programs.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

Salary: $77,500k - $82,500k
